Oaklands Street Community Garden Keith Surridge Park, Oaklands Street ALEXANDRA HILLS
Our purpose is to establish and maintain a sustainable, ecologically diverse greenspace for gardening, food production, gathering, education and community building
Our mission is to create a greenspace that enables the people of the Redlands to explore ethical sustainable solutions to various aspects of living. This will be achieved by providing opportunities for people to garden together, learn from each other, develop a sense of neighbourhood and create a more livable urban environment.
Our objectives are to improve the Alexandra Hills neighbourhood by taking an unused area of parkland and creating a productive greenspace that takes best advantage of the site. Encourage the spirit of cooperation, consultation, community pride and achievemen. Acquire, share and increase knowledge and practice of organic gardening and sustainable living. Manage the garden through processes which involve the full participation of members. Produce tangible, useful products for ones efforts.
