 Position overview

Working within the legal and procedural requirements of the disability industry the Residential Support Worker will deliver quality services in a way that enhances independence, support rights, interests and needs of people with disabilities.

As a Residential Support Worker you will provide support to an adult with intellectual disability and challenging behaviours with the aim of assisting the person to transition back to his/her community.  You will develop programs to improve his/her quality of life with an aim to reduce challenging behaviours and provide opportunities for community re-integration.

Addressing the Selection Criteria:

To address the above, you need to demonstrate how you possess each competency by relating it to your experience, skills, knowledge and personal qualities. Use examples, if appropriate, and include any formal qualifications and industry experience. Use effective communication skills in a range of contexts. Describe and specify the experience you have or the things you do or have done which show your communication skills.

For example, describing the occasions of time dealing with individuals face to face etc.

Attending an interview
If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted by telephone or email and told when and where the interview will be. Generally, you will be notified at least three working days prior to the interview. If you are not able to attend the interview in person, we will try to offer an alternative if deemed suitable.
