Im a little tea pot, short and stout……..May is the month for Morning Tea around Australia in support of the Cancer Council.

It is not uncommon to hear stories of sadness surrounding Cancer, usually through the people we work with, our friends or worse ….our family. Sandie Bouton of our Community Division sadly lost her sister Vicki, to cancer in April. Vicki had expressed her wish of donations to charities instead of flowers when she passed, so Sandie has put forward the idea of holding a morning tea in her honour, where all donations will go to the Cancer Council and their aim of reaching $12,000,000.

Thursday 27th May is the official “Australias Biggest Morning Tea” and we will be holding our own morning tea at 10.30 on this day. There will be delicious treats a plenty and a coffee van there to satisfy those caffeine addicts, it will be an enjoyable morning on our front lawn (weather permitting)!

|
The Coffee Trail has offered their support by way of offering their services for free with $1.00 from every cup sold going to the Cancer Council.
|
|
|
The Cancer Council don’t just provide funding for research, they also provide a range of support services and workshops to those suffering the life threatening disease. After Sandies sister went through the traumatic experience of chemo therapy, the Cancer Council were there with vouchers for a wig and pamper packs full of lovely skincare products. This may sound like money could be used in better ways, however to a person already living with Cancer, these activities and services are something to look forward too and make the day brighter.

So please dig deep for that person you know, the colleague you work with, the sad stories of those who have passed or even the thought that it could one day hit a little too close to home and donate today !
All donations over $2 are of course tax deductible and the Cancer Council have offered an added incentive to all donations over $10 – the entry into the draw to win a trip to EUROPE !
